Meet Our Principal Attorney
​Shellone Indira Surage, born and raised in the southern part of Saint Lucia, is the founder and principal attorney of Surage Law. She has made a significant impact over her 14 years of practice in Saint Lucia, specializing in civil, corporate matters, conveyancing and legislative drafting. Her diverse background equips her to navigate legal challenges with confidence and expertise.
Known for her unwavering integrity and commitment to efficiency, Shellone has built a reputation for delivering results while maintaining the highest ethical standards. Clients appreciate her personalized approach and her ability to streamline processes, making any legal experience with her, as smooth and effective as possible.
In 2008, Shellone earned her Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Barbados, and her Legal Education Certificate from Hugh Wooding Law School in 2010. In October 2010, Shellone was called to the Saint Lucia Bar, and immediately joined Peter I. Foster and Associates (now Fosters), as an associate, whose main portfolio was civil litigation.
In 2015 as the opportunity arose, and Shellone, having had a passion for legislative drafting, pursued a postgraduate degree in Legislative Drafting. She was awarded a Master of Laws (Legislative Drafting) from the University of the West Indies in 2016. Shellone served as a Legislative Drafting Consultant attached to the Attorney General’s Chambers until 2018, where she worked on various Bills including the Child Protection and Adoption Bill and the Trade Licence Bill. Thereafter, Shellone returned to private practice and joined another well-established law firm in Saint Lucia in 2018, Floissac, Fleming and Associates (now Floissac Du Boulay & Thomas), where she specialized in real estate and property matters. Later, Shellone joined Brickstone Law where she led the property division and worked predominantly on conveyancing matters.
In 2022, Shellone took on the post of in-house Counsel at the Landings Resort and Spa, a condominium/resort, situate at Pigeon Island, Saint Lucia, and simultaneously nurtured her practice, Surage Law. As in-house Counsel for the Landings, Shellone worked closely with the Board of Directors of the Landings Body Corporate and advised on matters including employment law, condominium law and corporate governance.
This extensive background allows Shellone to focus on key areas of law and offer each client a unique and personable experience. Shellone now specializes in conveyancing, corporate matters, succession law, and legislative drafting.
